Your pupils maybe dilated to have better look at the back of eye (Retina). The non- invasive tests will check;
- Eye pressure (glaucoma)
- Visual acuity (vision)
- Colour vision
- Visual fields
- Corneal surface
- Lens
- Retinal health
All the test can be carried out in 2-3 hours. There is no pain but having your eyes dilated means you cannot drive for several hours.
Results are often given on the day, if you need to see any specialists following the screening this will be arranged by us as directed.
It is important to check your eyes annually if you have certain eye conditions like glaucoma, or diabetic retinopathy. The screening test will help determine what checks you may need and how often.
